2007 Steve Jobs (links) van Apple en
Bill Gates (rechts) van Microsoft,
kwamen na jaren, aan tafel voor een interview. De twee
topmanagers werden 75 minuten lang op de rooster gelegd,
tijdens de zogeheten All Things Digital Conference, een
evenement van de Amerikaanse krant The Wall Street
Journal.
Het interview is uitzonderlijk omdat het al sinds 1983
geleden is dat de heren samen een podium deelden. Uiteraard
hebben de twee informatici al vaker met elkaar gepraat,
maar in het openbaar scheld de één de ander regelmatig
-subtiel- uit.
Het debat werd geleid door Walt Mossberg, een columnist van
The Journal en CNBC-presentator. Gates en Jobs zijn
traditioneel rivalen, hoewel ze de laatste jaren steeds
vaker toenadering zoeken.
